Reviewer Guidelines

Yamtara-Wala Journal of Arts, Management and Social Sciences (YAJAMSS) operates a rigorous double-blind peer review process designed to ensure the quality, integrity, and scholarly relevance of all published research. Reviewers play a central role in this process by contributing to the maintenance of academic standards and by supporting authors in strengthening the clarity, rigor, and contribution of their work through constructive evaluation.

Reviewers are expected to assess manuscripts objectively, fairly, and within the agreed timeframe, applying consistent academic judgment across submissions. The evaluation should consider the originality of the study, the clarity and significance of the research problem, the appropriateness and coherence of the theoretical framework, the rigor and transparency of the methodology, the validity of the analysis, and the overall contribution to the relevant field of study. In addition to substantive content, reviewers should also comment on the organization of the manuscript, the clarity of expression, and adherence to accepted academic and ethical standards.

All manuscripts received for review must be treated as strictly confidential documents, and reviewers are required to handle all materials with discretion and professional integrity. Under no circumstances should reviewers share, discuss, or use any part of the manuscript for personal or professional advantage. In line with this principle, unpublished manuscripts or any portion of their content must not be uploaded to or processed through external artificial intelligence tools or platforms that may store, reuse, or learn from such data. While limited use of AI tools for general language support may be acceptable, this is only permissible where no confidential manuscript content is disclosed and where the reviewer’s independent academic judgment remains the basis of the evaluation.

Reviewers must disclose any potential conflicts of interest that could affect their ability to provide an impartial assessment, including professional, financial, or personal relationships with the authors or their affiliated institutions. In such cases, reviewers are expected to decline the review assignment in order to preserve the integrity and fairness of the review process.

Feedback provided to authors should be constructive, specific, and expressed in a respectful and professional manner, with the aim of supporting the improvement of the manuscript. Reviewers are encouraged to provide clear and reasoned justifications for their evaluations and to offer practical suggestions that enhance theoretical positioning, methodological clarity, and the overall contribution of the study. Reviewers are expected to complete their evaluations within the agreed review period and to communicate promptly with the editorial office if delays arise or if they are unable to complete the review. Timely communication is essential to ensure an efficient and fair review process for all submissions.

YAJAMSS adheres to internationally recognized ethical standards in peer review, and reviewers are expected to report any concerns related to plagiarism, data fabrication, data manipulation, or other forms of academic misconduct directly and confidentially to the editorial team. By accepting a review invitation, reviewers agree to uphold the principles of confidentiality, objectivity, and academic integrity, and they remain fully responsible for the accuracy, integrity, and quality of their evaluation.
