THE IMPACT OF FULFULDE FOLKTALES ON THE MORAL DEVELOPMENT OF CHILDREN IN A SOCIETY

Abstract

This research examines the impact and relevance of Fulfulde folktales in the moral development of children in society. The study challenges the view of folktales as mere entertainment by showing their role in character formation, moral education, cultural preservation, and social development. It argues that folktales manifest human creativity and are orally passed from one generation to another. Findings indicate that children now have opportunities to access this oral genre through technological tools for collection, documentation, dissemination, and promotion. The study concludes that Fulfulde folktales significantly contribute to the moral development of younger generations.
