Abstract

This paper examines the dynamics of conflict, insecurity, and development crises in Nigeria. It analyses how historical grievances, socio-economic disparities, political instability, proliferation of armed groups, inter-communal tensions, and state failure contribute to cycles of violence and insecurity. The paper also assesses the impact of these crises on human development indicators such as poverty, education, and healthcare. It explores the effectiveness of governmental and non-governmental interventions aimed at conflict resolution and sustainable development. The study highlights the need for integrated strategies that address root causes of conflict while promoting social cohesion and economic resilience.
