Abstract

This paper examines pioneers of Islamic education in Bade Emirate in the nineteenth century. It evaluates the methodology and impact of selected scholars, their biographies, teaching styles, preaching methods, and other scholarly activities. The paper discusses how people viewed their teaching and the role they played in promoting peace and stability in their communities. It also highlights the impact of Islamic scholarship on the socio-economic and religious life of the Bade people. Primary data were collected through oral interviews with descendants and students of the scholars, while secondary data were obtained from documented histories and research works.
