Abstract

This study examines the level of perception of the coronavirus pandemic among people in Kano Municipal. It uses both qualitative and quantitative methods, with questionnaire data analysed using chi-square in SPSS. Findings indicate that demographic and socio-economic determinants influence perceptions of COVID-19 in the study area. The study also shows a generally positive perception of responses to the COVID-19 pandemic, although communication and prevention messages were rated less favorably. Findings further reveal that COVID-19 is real and has affected citizens. The study recommends quick and effective implementation of outbreak policies to address perceived and actual inefficiencies.
