Abstract

This study examines the effect of entrepreneur demographic characteristics on the performance of grain-based food enterprises in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. Stratified random sampling was used to select respondents from registered grain-based food SMEs across the six area councils. Descriptive statistics and standard regression analysis were used. Findings reveal that work experience and educational qualification have greater influence on grain-based food performance than age. The paper recommends educational and training initiatives for small business holders, especially grain-based food enterprises in the Federal Capital Territory.
