IMPACT OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE ON BUSINESS MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS AND DIGITAL INNOVATION IN THE LAGOS CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY

This study examined the impact of Artificial Intelligence on business management systems and digital innovation in the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry. A descriptive survey research design was adopted. The population comprised 180 employees, while the Taro Yamane formula produced a sample size of 124 respondents. A structured questionnaire was used for data collection. Of the 124 questionnaires administered, 118 were correctly completed and returned, representing a response rate of 95.2%. Data were analyzed using frequency distribution, mean scores, and simple linear regression analysis at the 0.05 level of significance. The findings revealed that Artificial Intelligence adoption significantly improves operational efficiency through enhanced decision making, workflow coordination, information management, and organizational productivity. Regression analysis showed that AI adoption significantly impacts operational efficiency (F = 33.642, p < 0.05), Artificial Intelligence technologies significantly affect digital innovation (F = 29.874, p < 0.05), and AI implementation challenges significantly affect digital transformation initiatives (F = 25.466, p < 0.05). The study concluded that Artificial Intelligence is a strategic tool for improving organizational effectiveness and digital transformation. It recommended the establishment of an AI governance framework, development of a digital transformation roadmap, and periodic AI capability audits.
