Abstract

The study examines the moderating role of distributive fairness on the relationship between organizational politics and performance management system effectiveness. Extant literature on the study’s variables was reviewed under conceptual, theoretical and empirical frameworks. The research work was anchored on Equity Theory. Survey research design was employed. The population of the study was 246, while Krejcie and Morgan’s approach was used to determine the sample. PLS-SEM was employed to analyze data. Findings revealed a positive relationship between organizational politics and performance management system effectiveness in the tertiary institution under study. The study concluded that distributive fairness moderated the relationship between performance management system effectiveness and organizational politics.
