THE IMPACT OF DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY IN THE COVID PANDEMIC ERA AND ITS IMPLICATION ON THE POST-COVID ERA

Abstract

The outbreak of COVID-19 affected every aspect of life globally. Its impact on economic activity and private life was extensive, from diminished purchasing power to reduced commercial activities and investment budgeting. Under these circumstances, the information and communication technology industry became more significant. Digital technologies became catalysts of inter-connectivity, enabling continuity of normal living and connecting people, families, friends and business associates. This paper examines the antecedents of digital technology before the pandemic, the effects of the pandemic and the ways digital technology has impacted lives during and after the pandemic.
