Abstract

Human internal displacement is a global issue that disrupts lives, leaving people without basic needs and exposing them to societal exclusion and vulnerabilities. This study focuses on Internally Displaced Persons in Biu Local Government Area of Borno State, specifically those residing in the IDP camp at Government Girls Secondary School, Biu. The study used qualitative methods involving interviews with NGO officials and focus group discussions with IDPs. Premised on the human security framework, the study revealed that IDPs in Biu face significant challenges in income, food, healthcare, accommodation, resettlement and general living conditions.
