The history of violence is part of human interaction, and violence in the Kaduna metropolitan area is not an exception. This study examines the effect of armed violence on environmental development in Kaduna Metropolis from 2000 to 2011. The study used descriptive and analytical methods with primary and secondary data for historical reconstruction. It finds that armed violence is a product of contemporary socio-economic and political conditions such as unemployment, poverty, politics for personal gain, moral decadence and greed. The paper reveals that armed violence affects human persons, the natural environment, ecological sphere and socio-economic and political setting.
